Deep plate for soups and stews

Modern coupe shape, retro design and artisanal charm: that's Casale Blu. Inspired by traditional Umbrian ceramics, this collection in vibrant shades of blue, yellow, green and turquoise will add a dash of Italian style to your table. The elegant soup bowl is perfect for serving all kinds of soup, from chilled soup to stocks or hearty stews. Experience porcelain design with an Italian twist.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Soup bowl is very shallow I returned the doup bowls as they were too shallow and would not serve an average portion size. I have ordered the pasta bowls instead.

Casale Blu

The Casale Blu design from Villeroy & Boch evokes images of decorations from the heart of Italy. The subtle blue color and reduction to simple graphical elements is reminiscent of traditional ceramics in the Majolica style, for which the Umbrian town of Deruta has been known since the 12th century. Here in the mountains and valleys of the Apennines, porcelain is still being painted by hand, with certain patterns dating back to the Renaissance painter Raffael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino – 1483-1520).
