Vitamin Overkill


50 ml passion fruit juice
50 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
50 ml mango juice
50 ml Lime juice
1 tbl raw sugar
3 Szechuan pepper
1 tsp freshly grated ginger
1 cardamom pod
¼ Vanilla bean marrow
2 leaves each of fresh basil and fresh mint


Crush the cardamom pod and the Szechuan pepper and mix with the vanilla bean marrow and sugar and caramelize until golden brown in a heavy-bottomed pan. Douse with the lime juice and bring to a boil. Allow the mixture to simmer briefly until the raw sugar has completely dissolved and then mix in the ginger, mango juice, passion fruit juice and orange juice. Pour into a highball tumbler and serve with ice cubes, basil and mint.
