• fresh cheese
• powdered sugar
• lemon juice
• sugar eyes
• cress or fresh herbs (e.g., mint leaves)

Quick Snack Snails

Preparation time: 15 minutes.

Preparation:

1. Wash and dry fruit and vegetables. Slice kiwi, apple, pear and cucumber.

2. Divide the celery stalks into pieces about 10 cm long. Pull one of the threads on the rounded side of the celery so that it sits on a plate without rolling. Fill a pastry bag with the fresh cheese and fill the celery stalks.

3. Arrange an apple, kiwi or pear slice on each celery slice as the snail shell and place a cherry tomato or grape as the head.

4. Make a thick icing with powdered sugar and a splash of lemon juice. Put two tiny dots on the snail head and pop the sugar eyes on top. Hold briefly and press, until the icing hardens. Add the cress or herbs to the fresh cheese as feelers.

Story for snacking on snails:

Hello there, little snail,
please come out of your shell.

Have a stretch, long and nice.
Wiggle and jiggle, don’t think twice.

Take your time and crawl over here.
As I can see you better when you’re near.

Want to go back into your shell?
Then I’ll have to say, “farewell”.

And hey presto, the little snails have disappeared into my mouth.
