Villeroy & Boch offers a wide range of custom-made solutions for accessible bathrooms.
Sinks with grooves or integrated grab bars
Concealed grooves or integrated grab bars make it easier to pull up a wheelchair and offer support and stability while standing at the bathroom sink. Our accessible bathroom sinks with grab bars or grooves not only accommodate wheelchairs but also provide more leg room.
Villeroy & Boch’s elongated toilets offer greater freedom of movement and enhanced comfort while increasing accessibility in the bathroom. The special height of the toilet allows for an easier transition from a wheelchair.
Special grooves in toilet seats
The groove around the edge of the toilet lid facilitates opening and closing. A reduced gap between the lid and ceramic bowl reduces unpleasant odors in the bathroom.
By combining the three technologies of DirectFlush, CeramicPlus and AntiBac, Villeroy & Boch offers a safe and reliable solution for accessible bathroom design.
Why Villeroy & Boch?
Attention to detail: Quality from Villeroy & Boch.
Our rimless toilets
Rimless toilets ensure maximum hygiene in the bathroom. The toilet rim is often a magnet for germs and bacteria. In a rimless toilet, the entire inner bowl is flushed by concealed nozzles to prevent dirt from sticking around, providing a safe and reliable solution for an accessible bathroom.
CeramicPlus makes cleaning the toilet easy and efficient. Water simply rolls off the high-quality surface. Dirt and limescale barely have a chance to stick around. Besides saving water, cleaning products and precious time, this also ensures maximum hygiene in the bathroom.
The innovative AntiBac surface has been proven to reduce the growth of bacteria by more than 99.9% and provides lasting protection in the bathroom. This also makes it an ideal choice for an accessible bathroom with stringent hygiene requirements.
Slip-resistant shower pans
The slip resistance of Villeroy & Boch shower pans has been tested and rated as either anti-slip class B (offering good slip resistance) or anti-slip class C (offering optimum slip resistance). The shower bases are still easy to clean and boast the same attractive appearance.
Durable and robust
Villeroy & Boch has been developing ceramics since 1748. The company draws on this experience to produce high-quality, easy to care for bathroom sinks with excellent hygiene properties that maintain their shine even after many years of use. One major advantage is the extra-thick glaze that makes surfaces resistant to impact and scratches.
Many of our bathroom sinks feature a glazed underside to allow for easier and more thorough cleaning. All our ceramic products are characterized by an extra-thick glaze that is applied twice to make our bathroom ceramics extra robust and shiny.

Accessible bathrooms are characterized by adequate space, secure grip and comfort functions for people with limited mobility. With accessible space of 60 x 60 inches, Villeroy & Boch bathrooms are ideal for wheelchair users. For detailed information, refer to our accessible bathroom brochure.
In addition to offering sufficient freedom of movement, accessible bathroom sinks must allow for seated access – for example while sitting in a wheelchair – and offer adequate leg room for enhanced mobility. Click here for more information about our accessible bathroom solutions.

What are the requirements for accessible showers? Curbless showers not only facilitate access but also ensure greater freedom of movement in the bathroom. In compliance with DIN 18040, it must also be possible to access the shower with a wheelchair or walker. The key factor is accessible space. Click here for more information.
Follow our cleaning and care tips to ensure lasting enjoyment of your Villeroy & Boch products.
Villeroy & Boch bathroom ceramics feature a smooth, dense and virtually scratch-proof surface that is resistant to all common household acids and alkalis. In most cases, clean water and a damp cloth are all you need for everyday care of your bathroom sink, bathtub or toilet. Water marks, residual grease or soap can easily be removed using a bathroom cleaner or vinegar-based cleaning product. If you would like to avoid "chemicals" entirely, you can use household vinegar or diluted vinegar essence to quickly remove limescale deposits.
For everyday care of your bathroom ceramics, we recommend a soft, non-abrasive sponge or cloth. If you wish to use a cleaning product, choose a standard all-purpose cleaner. Do not use aggressive, abrasive or environmentally harmful products. For stubborn stains, simply leave the bathroom cleaner or limescale remover to act overnight. Gel or foam cleaners are ideal, as they tend to stick to sloping surfaces such as bathroom sinks or bathtubs. Or simply place a cloth soaked in cleaning agent over the stain. CeramicPlus is resistant to all common household acids and alkalis (including cosmetic products and medicines containing solvents, alcohol or acetone). Like all ceramic surfaces, CeramicPlus will be damaged by repeated use of the following products: scouring creams or powders, concentrated drain cleaners, faucet and steel cleaners or chlorine bleach.
