In 2012 Winter Bakery and Winter Collage, Villeroy & Boch’s winter and Christmas collections, are to be further extended to include new, elaborately finished products with imaginative décors. These are articles bound to create a nostalgic and cosy atmosphere throughout the whole house. 

Winter Bakery – Gourmet collection for Christmas enjoyment

Christmas has much to do with savouring the seasonal specialities. And whether it’s baking the Christmas cake and gingerbread, enjoying mince pies and a coffee, or relishing a companionable round of mulled wine – advent and Christmas are most fun when shared with friends and family. Villeroy & Boch’s gourmet collection Winter Bakery helps invoke a romantic and nostalgic atmosphere in which to enjoy those special wintery moments. The collection consists of products especially developed for the winter season with high-quality gourmet tableware for delicious treats and hot drinks, and decorative ornaments to create a seasonal ambience. All products coordinate perfectly with one another and are lovingly designed to conjure up an evocative Christmas world of enjoyment.

In 2012 Villeroy & Boch is extending and enlivening the attractive Winter Bakery series with new functional and decorative products. The décor shows many variations of typical Christmas motifs using powerful red to contrast with gleaming white and including fine accents of green, yellow and orange.

The Winter Bakery Delight line features tableware for hot drinks and winter specialities, and is now being extended with new products. Some of the highlights include a tea mug, a coffee-to-go mug, and a cupcake cup suitable for baking cupcakes in. The finished treat can then be served in the cup, presented on an extra-large saucer. The product range has been further extended to include a new biscuit tin, a star-shaped dish with feet, a cake stand and a mini cake stand, all specially designed for storing and serving seasonal treats. A jug with a lid and a teapot warmer complete the new introductions for 2012.

The Winter Bakery Decoration line has a wide choice of accessories to encourage you to decorate for Christmas. There are new lovingly adorned hanging ornaments, variously sized candleholders, and elaborately embellished porcelain boxes. All articles focus on the theme of Christmas treats with beautifully decorated cupcakes, ornaments and small and large candleholders designed to resemble biscuits, candy canes and apples. The Winter Bakery Specials include various candles, a hurricane lamp, a cellulose table runner and a selection of napkin sets, including two décors for the 2012 collection – everything intended to create the perfect Christmas table.

Winter Collage – Santa’s workshop

Villeroy & Boch tell a very special Christmas story with the 2012 Winter Collage collection. At the heart of the collection this time is Santa’s workshop where busy elves are preparing presents for the children: carving colourful wooden toys, sewing teddy bears and dolls, and making balls and little cars. A traditional and nostalgic scene bound to make children’s eyes shine, conjuring up heartfelt images of Christmas.

A comprehensive choice of new original items and innovative, richly detailed décors has been developed to make Christmas unforgettable. From atmospheric lighting objects to Christmas tree decorations, ornaments and festive tableware, the entire range is perfectly coordinated.

The Nostalgic Village consists of various lighting objects and scenes in high quality porcelain with different versions of Santa’s workshop as the central motif: open, closed, for teddies, trains or roundabouts. There is also a new Christmas tree and new scenes: Santa with his sleigh, elves with presents, and elves with reindeer.

In the Christmas Toys Memory range there is a new Christmas tree music box with children as tealights and an advent wreath with teddy bears. The especially playful designs of the Nostalgic Dreams ornaments also feature Santa’s toy workshop, with lighting objects like hot air balloons or roundabouts evoking dreams of the good old days. The Christmas Toys line includes ornamental gift boxes in various sizes and colours. Inspired by nostalgic gift boxes of the past, they feature diverse workshop motifs and large-scale illustrations lovingly made by hand with an attentive eye for detail. There are also new scenes: a stag with Santa and children, and two indoor scenes, one with Santa at the fireplace, the other with Santa at a shelf.

The Winter Collage collection also offers a wide choice of Christmas products for festive table-settings. Toy’s Delight includes seasonal coffee ware and dinnerware items: various cups and mugs, a teapot warmer, plates, platters and dishes. New in 2012 are the white dinner plate, soup plate and breakfast plate with matching mug, all decorated with scattered, softly coloured motifs. There are also new storage jars, a bread basket, eggcups with saucers, a butter dish, a jam jar and a honey jar, a vase and a little dip bowl, all perfect for starting Christmas Day with an atmospheric breakfast. Equally appropriate: Breakfast for Two, 6-piece sets available in red and in white. The tableware novelties for 2012 are completed by a new handled mug, available as a 2-piece set decorated with a Christmas tree or a toy.

Villeroy & Boch has developed a limited range of glass accessories in the typical Christmas colours red, green and clear to formally coordinate with the Winter Collage dinnerware, attractively complementing the porcelain in festive table-settings.  There is a cake plate in classic Villeroy & Boch Christmas plate form, this clear glass version with an inwrought motif, and a platter for Stollen, a typically German Christmas cake. A votive that can be used with a tealight or a tapered candle completes the range.

The accessories in the Toy’s Delight Specials range have also been adapted to the new 2012 designs. In addition to the existing candles, ornamental figures and lights, and napkin sets, there are new lunch and cocktail napkins adorned with scattered motifs. New bowls and plates are available in the Toy’s Fantasy line, all of which can be wonderfully combined with one another and with existing products. And now the well-known red and green colour schemes are joined by midnight blue, very effective especially in combination with the new white plates from Toy’s Delight.

Also available from Winter Collage are a wide selection of ornaments and decorations, organised into different ranges. Nostalgic Ornaments offers teddy bears, circus animals and elves as Christmas tree decorations, fitting in perfectly with the Santa’s workshop theme. The new, lavishly worked advent calendar and the advent calendar box for 2012 sweeten the run-up to Christmas, and at the same time provide attractive decorations for the Christmas tree. Toy’s Ornaments and Fantasy Ornaments offer not only further items for the tree, but also original decorations for the whole house. Thus baubles complete with heads and feet and clad in knitted red, green and midnight blue pullovers are available as Santa, a snowman, a teddy or a stag. Ornaments like a bell, a heart, a Christmas tree and a star further contribute towards the Christmas atmosphere.

There are also attractive lighting options. Christmas Light includes Christmas lighting objects with a sleigh motif – now available with a teddy bear and an elf. The mini-series Nostalgic Light consists of traditional German smokemen with candleholders that are based on the design of Christmas wooden figures. A little elf with a conspicuously artisanal character is new to the collection.
