Changes in Supervisory and Management Boards

Wendelin von Boch assumes Supervisory Board chairmanship - Frank Göring becomes Management Board chairman

At the 2009 General Meeting of Shareholders, the Supervisory Board chairman of Villeroy & Boch AG, Prinz Wittgenstein, announced that, after 15 years in office, he would relinquish chairmanship to Wendelin von Boch on May 16 2009. This step was decided after careful consideration by the Supervisory Board, the family and Management Board, with the aim of ensuring future continuity in the Supervisory Board chairmanship.

A Supervisory Board member since 2007 and 2nd deputy chairman since 2008, von Boch worked for the Group for 40 years. He became a Management Board member in 1985 and assumed its chairmanship in 1998. A member of the founding family's 8th generation, he exerted a fundamental influence on the Group, developing it into one of the leading international lifestyle companies.

Prinz Wittgenstein has been a member of the Villeroy & Boch AG Supervisory Board since 1993 and its chairman since 1994. While holding this office, Prinz Wittgenstein has been involved in major strategic company decisions such as, above all, the rescue and spin-off of the tile segment and also the development of internationalisation. At the family's request, Prinz Wittgenstein will continue his Supervisory Board membership as vice chairman.

Frank Göring, who has held the position of Management Board spokesman of Villeroy & Boch AG since 2007, has been appointed Management Board chairman by the Supervisory Board. This nomination is also an expression of the Supervisory Board's trust in his work, given the challenges ahead.
