Whirlpool systems

The 7 most frequently asked questions

1. How should I clean my whirlpool?

We recommend monthly cleaning with a good whirlpool cleaning agent (e.g. Hagesan hygienic whirlpool cleaner).

Your whirlpool has an integrated facility for draining residual water. After use, the residual water is drained through the whirlpool’s piping system. In addition, some models have an automatic blow-dry system that dries the pipes.

Mild household cleaning products for the bathroom can be used to clean the surfaces. Please clean with a cloth and do not use scouring agents or rough sponges.

3. What is the difference between airpools, whirlpools and combipools?

Airpool, whirlpool and combipool describes the equipment variants of our 3 Ultimate Fitness, Whisper and Just Relax systems.

An airpool has air jets in the base of the bath. The air bubbles stimulate the surface of the skin and the circulation. The AIR ROYALE option is particularly recommended since this increases the number of base jets to 24 (available with WHISPER and ULTIMATE FITNESS).

A whirlpool has side jets on the side wall of the bath; these inject both water and air into the water for an optimum massage effect.
A combipool is the combination of an airpool and whirlpool and has side jets and base jets.

4. Which whirlpool is the best for me?

That depends on what type of person you are and on your own personal preferences. We offer 3 attractive systems that appeal to all target groups, e.g. sportspeople, people who take a bath just for the joy of it, etc.
Please use our type test (to the test) to find out the right pool system for you. You only have to answer 4 simple questions.

6. What d'you have to consider before installing a whirlpool?

  • The whirlpool is delivered complete and factory pre-installed. Only water and electrical connections need to be provided on site.
  • Installation requires more space than a conventional bathtub.
  • All technical components must remain accessible so that the electronics can be located quickly. The use of a Multibox or another flexible casing is recommended.
  • Direct contact with the structure must be avoided for noise protection reasons.
  • Sufficient ventilation must be provided, through the ventilation grate as well as the Multibox. If you prefer a different solution, please ensure that there is an air intake of 4000 mm².
  • Avoid direct sunlight on the receiver (option: remote control), as it may affect operation.
  • The drain pipe should be 40 or 50 mm and should be preinstalled in the area of the installation site.
  • Installation of the whirlpool against the prepared tiled wall and on the prepared tiled [1]oor is recommended.
  • A connection to the electricity supply in compliance with BS 7671 regulations must be configured accordingly. The current is 230 V/50 Hz and must be installed on a separate supply lead (3 x 2.5 mm² + equipotential bonding 1 x 2.5 mm²) through a Residual Current Circuit Breaker. The power lead must be long enough when installed in the area of the whirlpool. A cut-off switch must be installed between the supply lead and the control box for the whirlpool. Pre-installation and connection must be carried out by a professional.
  • The Villeroy & Boch units required for our whirlpool systems never project beyond the rim of the bath. Depending on the combination of whirlpool system, bath and accessories, this can mean that it is not possible to tile directly below the rim of the bath.

7. How long is the gurantee on my product?

The guarantee for a whirlpool is 3 years with private use and, with professional use, 1 year. In both cases, there is a 2-year guarantee on the remote control.

For the bath itself, there is a guarantee of 10 years.
