EXPO 2000 umělecké dílo “ Mapa živého světa”
Next to the Old Tower, you will find an ensemble created by two great contemporary artists: “Erdgeist” by André Heller and the largest ceramic jigsaw ever, the “Map of the living world”, by Stefan Szczesny - www.stefan-szczesny.com/. Together, they form the Living Planet Square, which was one of the highlights of Expo 2000 in Hanover. The Living Planet Square is the artistic expression of a project initiated by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature for the protection of endangered eco-regions throughout the world. Villeroy & Boch brought it to Mettlach.
