Arden Lane combines masculine style with feminine subtlety
"Retro" is a strong and stable trend in the furnishings sector. When implemented in a tangible way, new facets and developments present themselves again and again. A neutral, timeless classical image is thus forming to counter the opulent Neo-Baroque style of the past few years. Villeroy & Boch has interpreted this new traditionalism, based on the idea of re-think and re-mix, in designing its new classic collection Arden Lane. The result is a glamorous work, harmoniously combining refined yet low-key elegance with masculine style and feminine subtlety.
Tableware series Arden Lane – original shape "Anmut" with innovative décor
Arden Lane is being produced using "Anmut", the original shape that Karl Leutner developed for Villeroy & Boch in the 1950s. This stylish and authentic shape is given an up-to-date coherent setting thanks to the décor. Completely new is the balance between masculine and feminine elements within a certain décor: button-like dots, based, among other things, on the upholstery buttons in Chesterfield sofas, represent masculinity and technology, while decorative elements, reminiscent of pearl necklaces, add a feminine touch. The butterfly motif, which symbolises femininity and romanticism in a special way, gives the collection an additional light-hearted ease and feminine elegance.
Thanks to the special trompe-l’œil painting technique, the décor takes on an unusual three-dimensional plasticity. In addition, soft geometric formations create demurely elegant effects. The colour combination is based on the style of the 1940s: natural and sandstone shades and taupe are revitalised in a contemporary way with glimmering accents in mother-of-pearl and copper.
Arden Lane is available as a complete dinner and coffee service. The fine china tableware is microwave safe.
Glass series Arden Lane – a poised understatement with retro glamour
A poised understatement is a particular variety of an assured sense of style: a quiet entrance combining noblesse with discretion. With this in mind, an elegant, subtly chic glass series with a hint of retro glamour was developed for Arden Lane. The delicate, long-stemmed glasses show a traditional bell shape with a modern interpretation. The selection includes a red wine goblet, white wine goblet, water goblet and champagne glass, each with a striking, flat decorative element where the stem meets the goblet. The drinking glasses are available in a transparent version and with a flashed goblet interior in taupe. To match, there are tall candlesticks in three sizes. Drinking glasses and candlesticks are handmade in crystal. They are dishwasher safe.
Cutlery Pegasus Aureus – a feeling of luxury in partially gold-plated stainless steel
The luxurious feeling of precious contemporary silver cutlery has been interpreted in stainless steel for the matching cutlery Pegasus Aureus. A special design feature of the cutlery items is the stylised wings at the transition from the front part to the handle. Of unusual design are, in particular, the three-pronged fork and the knife with wrought blade and hollow handle, for which the wing motif extends from the holster to the tip of the blade. The striking, sweeping step in the front of the fork and spoon gives the cutlery an unmistakable vibrancy. Pegasus Aureus is partially gold plated with a satin finish. The cutlery is available in a 24-piece and 30-piece set.
