Information for Our Customers

Villeroy & Boch is in the process of recalling soup and sauce ladles made from melamine that are part of the Flow Series due to increased formaldehyde content

December 2011

Esteemed Customers:

Our most recent product tests conducted on our Flow Series soup and sauce ladles have revealed the presence of increased amounts of formaldehyde. As an act of precaution, Villeroy & Boch has decided to impose an immediate suspension of all sales and to recall these products. The following items are affected by this measure:

Soup ladle Flow (Item No. 10- 3420 8071)

Sauce ladle Flow (Item No. 10-3420 8072)

These soup and sauce ladles are white in color and are clearly identifiable by the Villeroy & Boch logo on the back side of the handle. Both products have been available at retail stores since May 2006.

Formaldehyde is a health hazard

Formaldehyde is a transparent and volatile substance that has been identified as a health hazard. The substance irritates the mucous membranes and can trigger allergies. Formaldehyde is also suspected to be carcinogenic. As protecting your health is important to us, we urge you to return your Flow soup and sauce ladles to us immediately.

We are ready to receive your returns effective immediately.
