You can rest assured that using your spa is safe. All Villeroy & Boch Spas have been tested using the most stringent standards following the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and International Electrical Commission (IEC) specifications through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recognized testing laboratories. Using Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL’s), OSHA and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) ensures that all products meet and or exceed the minimum requirements for safety.
Villeroy & Boch has chosen to use NRTL marks that support the UL and IEC specifications. All Villeroy & Boch Spas have been tested, certified, and safety listed with the TUV America mark. The important fact is that TUV laboratories support and enforce the same UL specifications and meet all requirements of the OSHA standards. TUV performs periodic follow-up inspections to ensure compliance and quality. The UL specification is well defined in the industry and all Villeroy & Boch spas are 100% compliant with the UL specification. Villeroy & Boch Spas has worldwide recognition for safety so that you can enjoy your spa worry-free.
The UL specification is independent of a vendor testing laboratory. Consumers should not be confused with the UL specification and the UL listed Mark. All Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL’s) use the UL specification in their certification and listing procedures. Each testing laboratory offers differing levels of customer service, but each must be 100% compliant with the specifications outlined by OSHA and ANSI.
Is any mark better than the other?
Yes and No. The UL specification is the same, but TUV also conforms to the IEC standards in their testing. The end result is that both the TUV and UL listed marks, in relation to the UL specification, are identical.
