proDetect is a unique and reliable urinal flush control that is based on 24 GHz high-frequency technology and that is very easy to install. The conventional handle to the push-flush or infrared panel of urinals is now a thing of the past.
The sensor element of the radar urinal control creates a user detection field from approx. knee to chin height: the urinal control identifies anyone remaining in the detection field for longer than 10 seconds as a user. The flushing process starts 3 seconds after the user leaves the detection field. The system recognises static objects, such as cleaning trolleys, and does not trigger the flushing process.
proDetect is simple: the unit is wall-mounted. It is not necessary to break up the wall, nor is a special pre-wall support required.
proDetect is safe: proDetect is a concealed system that is installed invisibly behind the urinal. This means it is protected against vandalism.
proDetect is clean: the system operates on a non-contact basis. This is more hygienic and ensures that users always find a flushed urinal.
proDetect is smart: thanks to the very simple plug & play calibration, the fitter saves time during installation and the operator saves a lot of money since it is quick and easy to change the following individual settings
1) The water-saving mode
2) The hygienic flushing
3) The self-diagnosis function
4) The Statistic mode
5) The Stadium mode
The Stadium mode is activated as standard. It is activated and deactivated by pressing both buttons for 5 seconds. A brief acoustic signal that is emitted twice signalises that the Stadium mode has been switched off; a longer acoustic signal lasting 2 seconds signalises that the mode has been activated.
Yes, this function is activated as standard. This setting can be deactivated by pressing the relevant buttons.
Yes. The water volume can be set between 0.8 and 4 litres.
Yes. The flushing volume is factory-set at 2 litres per flushing process. Each time the button is pressed, the flushing volume is increased by 1 litre up to a maximum of 4 litres. A signal light below the button indicates the current setting: flashing once = 0.8 litres, twice = 2 litres, etc.
No. The proDetect system is attached to the inlet; the solenoid valve is screwed to the wall with a power strip or 2 screws. Villeroy & Boch urinals are fixed to the wall with a special attachment and do not require a pre-wall system.
proDetect is available as accessory in 2 versions:
1. The Universal model 9090 is suitable for the urinals Omnia Classic (7526), Omnia Classic Compact (7557), Omnia Pro (7507) and Subway (7513).
2. The special model 9091 is only suitable for the urinal Omnia architectura (55749).
No. proDetect was designed exclusively for Villeroy & Boch urinals. Due to its special form, the system does not fit urinals made by competitor companies. In addition, Villeroy & Boch cannot guarantee full compatibility with the urinals of other manufacturers.
No. proDetect is generally independent of external influences. Cleaning agents that run down the ceramic can, of course, trigger the flushing process. Light, mobile phone calls and other electrical equipment in the vicinity do not have any effect on the urinal control.
No. The sensor of the proDetect system is not influenced by external factors or other proDetect systems.
No. proDetect offers outstanding value for money and, in terms of price, is highly competitive with other infrared systems by competitor companies.
proDetect operates at a pressure at rest of approx. 4 bar and with a flushing flow of 0.3 to 0.7 litres/second.
Basically, no. As the sensor does not come into contact with water, the water quality does not affect the system. However, despite the in-built sieve, dirt particles in the water can damage the solenoid valve or block the hose.
A ½ inch inlet nozzle with pipe thread is required.
Yes. ½ inch water connections are standard in most countries and it can thus be used just about everywhere. The sensor system with 24 GHz technology can be used all over the world.
Yes. The USE system can be easily replaced with the proDetect system as the assembly dimensions are identical. It’s only necessary to ensure that the urinal is compatible. To combine proDetect with other urinals, the inlet or outlet have to be modified accordingly.
To insert the T-piece into the wall, either a normal gas wrench is required (used on the flattened surfaces at the outer sides of the inlet) or a 12 mm Allen key. To screw the base plate to the wall (alternatively, the support plate can be bonded to the wall using power strips), a 6 mm stone drill is required, as well as a crosshead screwdriver. For mains-powered proDetect, a suitable slot-head screwdriver is also required in order to clamp the mains cable.
It is only necessary to ensure that the building’s ½" water inlet fits flush with the tiles.
As soon as the system is connected to the power supply, calibration takes place automatically. It is signalised by an acoustic signal that is emitted every two seconds. A 3-second continuous sound signalises that calibration is complete (duration approx. 25 - 50 s). The system is then operational. If there is a six-second beep instead of the continuous sound, calibration was unsuccessful. As a rule, it is necessary to ensure that there are no objects located in the system’s detection field during calibration. This can result in inaccurate calibrations.
After calibration, the sensor function can be checked acoustically for approx. two minutes: if a user is in the detection field, this is indicated by a continuous acoustic signal. If the user moves out of the detection field, the signal stops. If a user remains in the detection field for at least 10 seconds, the flushing process starts when the user moves away.
The power consumption of the mains-operated proDetect flushing system is < 0.5 Watt.
proDetect is supplied with 2 D-cell Li-ion batteries. On average, these batteries last 5 years or 2000 work cycles.
Either 2 D-cell Li-ion batteries or commercial batteries can be used.
The power supply is removed from the extractor section and the power is disconnected. 3 screws on the lid of the battery box have to be undone and the batteries can then be replaced. When the battery box has been closed again, the automatic calibration starts again.
With the battery-operated system, the solenoid valve remains closed so that water cannot flow through. The system with plug connection does not work without electricity. As soon as the power is reconnected, the automatic calibration starts.
24 months.
proDetect is approved for use all over the world. It is thus suitable for power connections ranging from 110 to 240 V. In addition, it has the highest water protection class IP 65.
It meets the highest water protection class, or IP 65

proDetect was subjected to 8 months of extensive tests by Villeroy & Boch. In addition, the system has been used successfully in highly frequented areas since November 2008.
Our Customer Services will provide quick and competent telephone support (00800 - 6864 81 00) and, if necessary, will send out a customer services employee. Further information about the system is available on the Villeroy & Boch website.
proDetect can be cleaned with conventional cleaning agents. It must be noted that the system triggers the flushing process if a person remains within the detection field for a certain amount of time. If the cleaner does not remain in the detection field for long enough, the system would only flush away the cleaning agent when the cleaner has re-entered and remained in the detection field for at least 10 seconds. If the cleaner remains in the detection field for longer than 10 seconds, the system flushes automatically when the cleaner exits the detection field. If a cleaning agent has to be left to act for a longer period of time, the cleaner must apply the cleaning agent and leave the detection field within 10 seconds.
